There is one Project Associate-I (PA-I) post open, with SSC/ 10th plus ITI as the essential qualification. It pays monthly emoluments of Rs. 18,000/- + HRA, and the upper age limit is 35 years. The notice also sets these eligibility conditions:

• You can apply only if you have already acquired the essential qualification and your result has been declared. You should have at least a provisional certificate.
• Candidates who are awaiting results, have appeared in their final semester or have submitted a Ph.D. are not eligible where the minimum essential qualification is mandatory.
• Final semester and result-awaited candidates are not allowed to appear for the interview.
• Meeting the minimum qualification does not by itself give you a right to be called for the interview.

Pay and Tenure

The Project Associate-I post pays monthly emoluments of Rs. 18,000/- + HRA. You must arrange your own accommodation during the project, but HRA is admissible as per applicable rules.

• The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. It gives no right, implicit or explicit, to be considered for regularisation against any CSIR/CSIR-NEERI post.
• The offer letter will first be issued only for the period for which funds are available.
• A review committee will assess your performance and may recommend an extension if required, subject to funds being available in the project.
• The engagement may be extended or curtailed depending on the duration of the project, the desired level of performance or your conduct.
• CSIR-NEERI may end the engagement at any time without giving reasons, with one month’s notice. To leave, you must give one month’s notice or pay one month’s remuneration instead. The Competent Authority may condone or curtail this at its discretion.
• Under no circumstances may the tenure of project staff who have served CSIR-NEERI or other CSIR laboratories/institutes under contract R&D projects exceed Six or Seven, as the case may be. This limit is set by clause no. 1.6/1.7 of CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD Dated 02.09.2024, as amended from time to time.
• Project staff are not upgraded within the same project or to a new project. You must apply afresh and, if shortlisted, appear for the interview again.
• An engagement under a new project is made only after the competent authority accepts your resignation from the previous project.

How to Apply for CSIR-NEERI Project Associate-I

Submit the online application form by 03/11/2026 (3 November 2026). Candidates are not required to pay any application fees. The notice does not print the address of the online application form or give the steps for filling it in.

Selection and Interview

Selection for the CSIR-NEERI Project Associate-I post is based on an online interview held through MS Team, Skype or a similar platform. The interview date will be announced separately on the www.neeri.res.in website.

• Shortlisting: If a large number of applications is received, the Screening Committee will give preference based on the criteria it adopts.
• Interview call: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for the interview. The information will be uploaded on the website/portal.
• After selection: You must join within the time frame given in the offer letter, after pre-appointment formalities such as a medical examination and character verification. You must also sign an undertaking to keep project findings and any related intellectual property information confidential.

Important Instructions

• CSIR-NEERI reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the offer of engagement if a discrepancy is found in the candidature of any empanelled candidate at any stage.
• The notice says that if more vacancies come up (it expects up to 3, depending on funds), candidates will be selected from the waiting list.
• No TA (travel allowance) will be paid for attending the interview in case of offline interviews.
