IWAI Director Recruitment 2026 – Apply Offline

Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has notified 1 vacancy for the Director post on deputation. Candidates applying for the Director post must hold a Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Marine Engineering/Naval Architecture, with the age limit specified as not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of application. The post carries Level 12 in the pay matrix as per 7th CPC. Who Can Apply

Officers in the Central / State Government/ Statutory or Autonomous bodies/ Public Sector Undertakings meeting the following conditions:

• Holding analogous post OR 5 years regular service in Level 11 in the pay matrix (Pre-revised PB-3, Rs. 15600-39100 + GP Rs. 6600) and
• Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Marine Engineering/Naval Architecture from a recognized University/ Institute.

Desirable

• Experience in works connected with inland waterways in dredging, river conservancy works, river training, marking of fairway rules and regulations for safety of shipping and navigation.

Age Limit

• Not exceeding 56 years on the closing date of application.

Pay and Terms

The post carries Level 12 in the pay matrix as per 7th CPC. The Authority follows Central Government Rules & Regulations in service matters. Leased accommodation and medical reimbursement are provided as per the rules of the Authority. The period of deputation shall not ordinarily exceed 3 years. The post carries all India transfer liability at IWAI offices.

3. Attach self-attested copies of certificates of educational qualifications, experience, and other relevant documents.

5. Enclose attested photocopies of complete and up-to-date ACR/APAR dossiers for the last five years (from 2020-2021 onwards) along with Vigilance Clearance and Integrity Certificate.
6. Send an advance copy if delay is anticipated through proper channel before the closing date.
7. Mail the complete application in a closed envelope superscribed “Application for the post of Director on deputation basis, against Employment Notice No. IWAI-12013/2/2024-ADMIN RECTT-Part(1) Dated 22.09.2026” to the Assistant Secretary (Admn. & Estt.), Inland Waterways Authority of India, A-13, Sector-1, Noida-201 301 (U.P.).
8. Submit the application through Registered Post / Speed Post only within 45 days of publication in Employment News (about 6 November 2026).

Selection Process

Selection for the Director post is conducted on a deputation basis. The decision of the Authority as to the eligibility of a candidate shall be final, and the Curriculum Vitae will be assessed by the Selection Committee at the time of selection.
