DRDO NPOL Consultant Recruitment 2026 – Apply Offline

Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (DRDO NPOL) is inviting applications for 1 Consultant vacancy on a contract basis. Eligible candidates can apply by sending their duly completed application along with required documents through post or email to Director, NPOL (DRDO), Thrikkakara P.O, Kochi from 12 October 2026 within 21 days from date of advertisement. Officers/Officials who have retired from Central/ State Government / PSUs/ Autonomous Bodies/ Universities/ Govt. R&D Organizations are eligible. The pay is Level-11 as per 7th CPC for pensioners/NPS or Rs. 50,000/- per month for non-pensioners, under advertisement number NPOL/A/Consultants/01/2026. Selection is through application screening, with preference given to persons possessing experience of having worked with DRDO.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

Educational Qualification and Discipline

• M.Sc in Chemistry/Materials Science with experience in development and testing anti-vibration materials and testing: OR
• NPTEL Course Composite Manufacturing, experience in Composite fabrication, Magnetorheological mounts and shear thickening fluid based mounts & testing characterization and documentation.

Experience and Expertise Required

• Experience in development of Composite/MR/STF (nananofluid) based mounts.
• Experience in mechanical characterization of material/Mount in UTM.
• Experience in material characterization equipment like DSC/TGA/DMA/FTIR.
• Expertise in testing of mounts in vibration shaker and pressure testing of mounts.
• Expertise in generation of documents like design, specification, ATP, qualification etc.
• Experience in carrying out formulation of rubber/composites.
• Experience in carrying out store procurement procedures.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for all categories of retired Govt. employees for applying will be 63 years as on closing date of application.

DRDO NPOL Consultant Job Description

The consultant is supposed to carryout following tasks:

• QAP tests as per trial requirement, documentation, preparation of installation manual.
• Assistance in finalization of ToT documents of NAVEM series, RAVM series, CAVM series, MR Mount, NAM series.
• Generation documents as per guidelines of technology categorization of NAVEM series, RAVM series, CAVM series, MR Mount series.
• Assistance in communication with directorate for formation of TACs, CECs for NAVEM series, RAVM series, CAVM series, MR Mount series and NAM series.
• Assistance in selection of Industries as per guidelines of DRDO ToT Policy 2025.
• Generation of Test results and making of ATP documents.
• Generation and finalization of LA ToT.
• Assistance in hand-holding support for the industry to absorb the technology.

Selection Process

Persons possessing experience of having worked with DRDO would be accorded preference during selection / appointment. No retired Government Servant shall be eligible for appointment as a Consultant unless there is a gap of fifteen (15) days between his/her retirement and appointment as Consultant.
