RDSO Senior Section Engineer Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 42 Posts

Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) has notified 42 contractual vacancies for Sr. Section Engineer/Inspection/Electrical (25) and Sr. Section Engineer/Inspection/Mech (17) posts. Eligible candidates can apply through email or post on or before 9 November 2026. Applicants must be Sr. Section Engineers in Pay Level-7 with a minimum of 5 years of experience, while a Degree or Diploma is preferred. The pay is specified as Pay Level-7 for both posts, with a 4-year tenure that is extendable or curtailable. Selection involves screening by a committee based on APAR and educational qualification, followed by merit list preparation.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

Eligibility Conditions:

• Sr. Section Engineer (Cadre Post) Pay Level-7 working in the concerned department (Electrical or Mechanical) of Zonal Railway/Production Unit.
• Minimum 05 years of Service Experience as Sr. Section Engineer (Cadre Post) Pay Level-7 is necessary.
• Total APAR Grading of last three years (22-23, 23-24 and 24-25) should not be less than 11 marks and Grading of APAR of last year should not be less than ‘GOOD’.
• Candidate must have minimum 05 years’ residual service.
• Medical Category: B-1 is required.
• Cooling-off period of three years will be maintained between two tenures in RDSO.
• Candidates against whom any penalty was imposed as outcome of vigilance case during the previous RDSO tenure will be debarred.

• Attested photocopies of Service Book (each page attested) APARs of the applicants for the last three years (2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25) NO D&AR and SPE/Vig. clearance status

Selection Process

Selection will be based on the screening of eligible candidates by a Screening Committee. Screening will be conducted based on prescribed marks for two items: APAR of last 03 years (Maximum Marks: 15) and Educational/Professional Qualifications (Maximum Marks: 05). After screening, a panel and a merit list corresponding to the vacancies will be prepared.
