Allahabad University has notified 1 project-based Junior Research Fellow (JRF) vacancy for appointment in Prayagraj. Candidates must possess a Post Graduate Degree or BE/BTech/MTech in the relevant discipline along with NET/GATE or equivalent national level exam clearance to apply. The initial tenure is for one year, subject to continuation until the project ends based on satisfactory performance. Who Can Apply

Candidates must meet the essential educational qualifications and national-level examination requirements to apply for the position.

• Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree (MSc/MTech) in Atmospheric and Ocean Science/Earth System Science/ Meteorology/ Geophysics/ Geology/ Physics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science OR BE/BTech/MTech degree in Meteorology/ Atmosphere/ Ocean/ Marine/ Mechanical/ Civil/Computer Engineering /Information Technology from Govt. recognized Universities/Institutes.
• National Level Examination: Must have cleared UGC NET/CSIR NET/GATE/National Level Examinations conducted by Central Govt. Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
• Desirable Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates having knowledge of Big Data Analysis and Display tools, Mathematical Modeling, Climate Models, Artificial Intelligence, HPC, LINUX, MATLAB, C++, Python. At least 60% marks at the Under Graduate and Post Graduate degree level.

Pay and Tenure

The fellowship is Rs. 37,000 per month plus 20% HRA for the first two years as Junior Research Fellow (JRF), and Rs. 42,000 per month plus 20% HRA for the 3rd year upon upgradation to Senior Research Fellow (SRF). The terms and conditions of the research fellowship and rules regarding upgradation from JRF to SRF follow DST OM No. DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26/06/2023 read with OM No. SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30/01/2019 and guidelines of the Ministry of Earth Sciences. The appointment is initially for one year and may continue till the project ends subject to satisfactory performance in periodic work appraisals.
