Refund, Cancellation & Payment Disputes Policy

1. Purpose and scope
This policy explains how CheckMyPrep handles payments, refunds, cancellations, duplicate transactions, payment failures and issues with access to paid digital products.
CheckMyPrep provides online exam-preparation resources, practice material, Test Series and related digital features. This policy applies to paid products purchased through CheckMyPrep, subject to the product description and applicable law.
Nothing in this policy is intended to remove or restrict a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Products and purchase information
Before purchasing, users should review the product description, price, included features, access period and any stated limitations.
An individual Test Series purchase and an All Test Series subscription may provide different access rights. Purchasing an individual Test Series does not, by itself, include membership or access to every other Test Series unless the purchase description expressly says otherwise.
Access duration and included features are those displayed for the relevant product at the time of purchase and in the purchase confirmation, subject to correction of any genuine error in accordance with applicable law.
3. General refund approach
Refund requests will be assessed individually, fairly and in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the transaction. A refund is not automatic merely because a user changes their mind or no longer wishes to use a product. Equally, a request will not be rejected solely by relying on a blanket “no refunds under any circumstances” statement.
Relevant considerations may include:
- Whether payment was successfully collected.
- Whether the correct product and access period were purchased.
- Whether access was activated and whether the purchased product was materially available.
- Whether a technical problem prevented the user from accessing the purchased product.
- Whether the transaction was duplicated or unauthorized.
- Whether the product description or checkout displayed materially incorrect information.
- Whether the request falls under a refund or remedy required by applicable law.
Where a refund or other remedy is required by law, this policy does not override that requirement.
4. Payment successful but Test Series remains locked
If a user has paid but cannot access the purchased Test Series or subscription, the user should contact support before making another purchase.
Please provide:
- The registered CheckMyPrep email address or user ID.
- The purchased product or plan.
- Mobile Number used with payment.
- Razorpay order ID and payment ID, if available.
- Payment date and approximate time.
- A brief description or screenshot of the access problem, with sensitive information hidden.
CheckMyPrep will review the transaction and account entitlement, and will attempt to restore the correct access where payment is confirmed. If the issue cannot reasonably be resolved, the request will be assessed for an appropriate remedy, including a refund where warranted or legally required.
A payment confirmation alone may not mean that access has already been activated. Users should contact support if access does not appear after a reasonable processing interval.
5. Failed, pending, duplicate or uncertain payments
5.1 Payment marked failed or pending
If a payment appears unsuccessful, pending or uncertain, users should check the payment provider or bank status before attempting repeated transactions.
If money appears to have been debited but the purchase was not completed, contact support with the transaction details. CheckMyPrep will investigate the payment status and coordinate with the payment provider where necessary.
The timing of any reversal for a failed or pending payment may depend on the payment provider, bank and applicable payment-system rules. CheckMyPrep will not promise a reversal date that it cannot control.
5.2 Duplicate payment
If the same purchase appears to have been charged more than once, contact support with the relevant transaction IDs. After verification, duplicate successful charges will be assessed for refund or correction, subject to the payment records and applicable law.
5.3 Unrecognised or unauthorised transaction
If a user believes a transaction was unauthorised, the user should promptly contact their bank or payment provider and notify CheckMyPrep. The user should not send passwords, OTPs, card PINs, CVVs or full card details to support.
6. Subscription access and cancellation
Any subscription or access plan will be governed by the duration, features and renewal terms shown at checkout.
Unless the checkout expressly states that a plan renews automatically and the user has clearly agreed to those terms, the plan should be treated as a purchase for the stated access period rather than an automatic recurring-payment mandate.
A user may stop using the service at any time. Stopping use does not itself create an entitlement to a refund for unused time. However, refund requests will be considered under this policy and applicable law.
Where recurring billing is offered in the future, the checkout and account interface must clearly disclose the renewal frequency, amount, cancellation method and relevant timing before the user consents.
7. Refund requests after access or use
Accessing a Test Series, starting an attempt or using digital content may be relevant when assessing a discretionary refund request, but it does not automatically eliminate any remedy required by law.
CheckMyPrep may consider the extent of use, the reason for the request, the nature of the problem and whether the purchased service was supplied as described.
8. Refund processing
Where a refund is approved, it will ordinarily be initiated through the original payment method or another lawful method agreed with the user, where supported by the payment provider.
The time taken for funds to appear in the user’s account may depend on the bank, card issuer, UPI application or payment provider. CheckMyPrep will communicate the refund status where reasonably possible and comply with any legally applicable refund deadline.
No processing period in this policy overrides a shorter period prescribed by applicable law.
9. How to request assistance or a refund
Users may contact us through either channel:
- Contact form: https://www.checkmyprep.com/contact-us/
- Support email: support@checkmyprep.com
Please use a subject such as “Refund Request”, “Duplicate Payment” or “Paid but Test Series Locked”.
Include your registered email, product name, transaction reference and a concise explanation. Do not include passwords, OTPs, full card numbers, CVVs, card PINs or other authentication secrets.
10. Complaints and escalation
We aim to acknowledge consumer complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within one month of receipt, in accordance with applicable requirements. If a complaint requires additional investigation, we will communicate relevant updates where reasonably possible.
If the issue remains unresolved, users may pursue remedies available under applicable Indian law, including approaching the relevant consumer grievance forum or authority.
11. Policy updates
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our products, payment processes or legal requirements. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Changes will not remove rights that have already accrued under applicable law.
